David Tamblyn

David Tamblyn started his career in wood in 1979, working in high-end custom cabinetry.

Mr. Tamblyn began to develop an interest in bow-making, and in 1989 took William Salchow’s course at the University of New Hampshire. From 1993 to 2000, David worked full time from his home studio on Toronto Island developing and perfecting his own models and concepts for bows.

Since 2000, Mr. Tamblyn has worked as bow maker, repairer, and restorer with The Sound Post in Toronto. Mr. Tamblyn continues to study with his mentor William Salchow and has taught courses developed by Salchow alongside colleagues George Rubino and Lynn Hannings.
