Program Information

Achieve your artistic vision. The Banff Centre offers self-directed residencies for Aboriginal artists, enabling the time and space for focused work and providing the freedom to conceptualize, create, research, or complete a project.

These residencies are open to writers, composers, singer-songwriters, dancers, choreographers, film makers, visual artists, new media artists, screenwriters, playwrights, and curators. Residencies can be of any duration and artists can apply to come any time.

During a residency, artists can anticipate interacting with other artists in residence, attending performances and events, and enjoying the natural beauty of Sleeping Buffalo Mountain in Blackfoot Territory and Banff National Park.

All programs, faculty, dates, fees, and offers of financial assistance are subject to change. Non-refundable fees and deposits will be retained upon cancellation. Any other fees are refunded at the discretion of The Banff Centre.
