All applicants must submit:

  1. A non-refundable processing fee. (varies per program, click for details)
  2. A completed application form.
  3. A completed application form for financial assistance. To be considered for financial assistance please submit an online application or mail/fax a downloadable form.
  4. A completed application requirements package (download pdf).
  5. Detailed resource request form (download pdf) outlining studio and equipment/facility needs and staff support is essential. Final resource allocation is at the discretion of the department.

Please Note: Candidates must complete all appropriate sections of the application form. The application, and all required support materials, must be received by the Office of the Registrar by the appropriate deadline.

Please do not send original magazines, newspaper clippings, or books as they cannot be copied for adjudication purposes. Applicants sending portfolios from outside Canada must attach (on the outside of the package) a declaration of value for customs. Failure to do so may result in customs charges; any charges incurred will be charged to the applicant’s account. Portfolios will be returned to applicants who do not attend The Banff Centre. Those attending may claim their portfolio, during their residency, from the department.
