Those applying for financial assistance should note their request on the application form and Canadians should ensure that a social insurance number has been provided. Awards are given based on a combination of artistic merit and financial need.
Applicants sending audition recordings from outside Canada must attach, on the outside of the package, a declaration of value for customs. For customs purposes, non-commercial recordings are valued only at the cost of the disc. For example, “Audition CD, value $5.” Failure to do so may result in customs charges; any charges incurred will be charged to the applicant’s account. Audition recordings will not be returned to applicants unless a pre-paid self addressed envelope is provided. Those attending may claim their recording during their residency at the Office of the Registrar. Any recordings that are not claimed will be destroyed.
Adjudication and Acceptance
Upon completion of the adjudication of applications and materials, applicants will be notified if they have been accepted to the program or placed on a waiting list.
All programs, faculty, dates, fees, and offers of financial assistance are subject to change. Non-refundable fees and deposits will be retained upon cancellation. Any other fees are refunded at the discretion of The Banff Centre.
