Alex is the author of a chapbook of microfictions 20 Objects for the New World, a collection of short stories People Who Disappear, shortlisted for a Lambda Award, and a poetry collection The things I heard about you, shortlisted for the Robert Kroetsch Award for innovate poetry. Her collection of short stories We All Need To Eat will be published by BookThug this fall, and her poetry collection Vancouver for Beginners will be published by BookThug in Fall 2019. Alex's writing has been published in Granta, the Best Canadian Poetry in English anthology, and the Journey Prize anthology. In 2017, she was a writer-in-residence for the Vancouver Writers Fest outreach program in under-resourced BC high schools.
