This third annual Story Summit focuses on story, technology, diversity and inclusion in the ever changing eco-system of content and media and entertainment.

The Story Summit is the premier gathering for North American digital content creators, filmmakers, producers, and directors – and will include keynote speakers, panel discussions, and workshops crafted to sharpen both the technical and creative skills needed to stay relevant and in the game, as well as invaluable opportunities to have one-on-one time to connect with presenters and industry insiders at table-top lunches and other socials at this unique industry networking event. 

Keynote speakers include Jon Giegengack who will look at trends that are leading the way in the media and entertainment industry, as well as a session with Melissa Mollen Dupuis, 2017 Amnesty International’s Ambassador of Conscience who will address topics in Indigenous storytelling and authentic content.

Jon Giegengack is Founder and Principal, Hub Entertainment Research, Giegengack has 20 years of experience in research for entertainment and technology clients and is an expert in what drives consumer decisions. His keynote discussion will cut through the clutter and outline what is being watched, when, and on what platform – and the surprising trends that are leading the way for opportunity in the media and entertainment industry. Workshop topics include: 

The Future in Hand: Entertainment Technology: A hands-on workshop addressing current and future media technologies.
Starting at the End: A VFX Workshop: Discover the ins and outs of visual effects and what a content creator/producer needs to know re. VFX options, budgeting, timing, and planning.
Modern Casting 101: Find out how to use best practices and modern technology to make the most of your next casting session.
Camera, Lens, and Lighting: Creating that Look: Learn the tools for getting that specific look. 
Getting the Agent and Getting the Deal: Find the right agent to benefit you and your project.

Registration Fees:

Summit Passes: The Summit package includes all sessions, keynotes, lunches, receptions and choice of workshops on Saturday. 
Fee $400 CAD – AMPIA, ACTRA, and IATSE members Fee
$475 CAD – Non members
Student: The Student Summit package includes all sessions, keynotes, lunches, receptions and one workshop on Saturday. 
Fee $175* CAD * You will be required to show student id during the onsite registration check in.
Day Passes: You can select from Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Saturday includes workshops (lunch is not included). Friday is a half session with a keynote and reception. Saturday and Sunday Includes all sessions, keynotes, lunch, and reception on the day chosen.
Fee $250 CAD – AMPIA, ACTRA & IATSE members
Fee $325 CAD – Non members
