National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

Join Banff Centre as we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day through a rich and unique immersion in arts and culture.

Events are free and open to the public, everyone is welcome. 

All events at Banff Centre will be held the evening of Thursday, June 21.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided in Max Bell Building.

Events include:

  • Gallery, Library and Archives tour featuring the works of Indigenous artists and performers.

  • Film screening curated by Jade Nasogaluak Carpenter and panel discussion with the filmmakers to follow. Please note that the films are 14+.

  • Medicine Walks led by Brenda Holder

  • Evening performance featuring Dale Mac (Telus Studio, in Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Building)

Additional celebratory events in the Bow Valley

Please join us on Canmore's Mainstreet where the Town of Canmore is hosting an afternoon of additional programming including: parade, dancing, drumming, storytelling, art exhibit, food and more. Learn more and see all events here.
