This intensive residency offers space for Indigenous and non-Indigenous writers, artists, curators and researchers to imagine what the ‘future narratives’ of Canada may be from the perspective of Indigenous contemporary artistic practice. As we approach Canada 150, what is the vision for what those stories are and how they can be shared and supported going forward.
This program invites Indigenous art writers, art historians, and curators to explore pertinent conversations in contemporary Indigenous art practice, and the deeper concerns that inform artists work, lives, and communities.
Studio Practicum programs are opportunities that expand and enhance Indigenous artists technical skills, and increase knowledge in the various mediums supported by the Visual + Digital Arts area.
