The Performing Arts Department at Banff Centre is committed to the commissioning, development, and production of new works in all major performance disciplines. Typically projects fall into one of the two following categories:
- Creation Residency: A program to develop a new work in its initial creation phase in Banff Centre's studios.
- Production Residency: A program to develop a new work in its production phase in Banff Centre's theatres and concert hall.
What does the program offer?
Banff Centre offers a range of work spaces and facilities depending on participants' needs and availability. Artists can create in our dance and fully-equipped music studios, performance venues (including two theatres, a concert hall, and a cabaret-style club), as well as theatre production and design shops (set, costumes, lighting, and sound).
