Program Information

Program Overview

This workshop is based on Ike Zimbel’s informative articles on RF, and covers practical issues in setting up and troubleshooting RF problems.

What does the program offer?

This program provides a unique training opportunity for participants to gain knowledge of and learn how to troubleshoot RF systems. Based on Ike’s series of informative and well received articles on wireless frequency (RF) matters, this course will feature a straightforward, experience based and hands-on approach.

Topics covered will include:

  • RF systems basics
  • Antenna systems deployment and considerations
  • Equipment packaging considerations
  • Frequency coordination allocation and deployment
  • Spectrum analyzers and other tools
  • RF management during the event
  • Troubleshooting and common RF mistakes
  • Spectrum allocation changes that are on the horizon
  • Touring with RF

Who should apply?

IATSE members, venue audio staff, theatre students, theatre audio staff, university audio staff and faculty, sound company staff, CITT members, and any other interested parties.

A non-refundable registration fee of $135 will be charged upon registration.  Banff Centre reserves the right to cancel a program up to 7 days prior to program start date if there is insufficient enrolment. If the program is cancelled all registrants will receive a full refund of any program fees paid. Banff Centre is not liable for any personal/travel expenses incurred.

Please download the software package Wireless Workbench 6 and familiarize yourself with it prior to the workshop. The software is free and can be downloaded here
