Betroffenheit, Electric Co. Theatre & Kidd Pivot, Work in Progress, Created by Crystal Pite and Jonathon Young.

Program Overview

This practicum program provides experience in stage management for dance productions. Participants will work as assistant stage managers on Banff Centre’s summer productions. Practicums will work under the direction of professional stage managers assigned to the productions.

Special consideration will be given to professionals who require reinforcement of specific skills or who wish to expand their skill base into different disciplines (e.g., a theatre stage manager wishing to learn dance stage management skills).

What does the program offer?

Practicum learning opportunities and duties will vary according to the nature of each production. These may include scheduling, prompting, company management, participating in the rehearsal process, and various other responsibilities related to stage management.

Who should apply?

Ideal candidates will have completed formal theatre technical training in an accredited institution or have equivalent work experience and have a passionate interest in the entertainment industry. Potential candidates are aspiring professionals looking to gain experience in a different discipline.  Participants will be required to supply their own Class 1, C.S.A. approved safety footwear, and working blacks in good repair and free of logos.
