 Public Programs and Educational Outreach

Our Educational Outreach and Public Programs facilitate in-depth investigation and discussion into the exhibitions organised by Walter Phillips Gallery (WPG). These events and workshops give audiences the chance to meet the artists, curators, and producers who are involved in both the WPG and Visual + Digital Arts programming. Our programs are a means to connect research and exhibitions in Visual and Digital Arts at the Banff Centre to diverse publics by illustrating its relevance to everyday life.

Programming includes hands-on workshops, school tours (including Indigenous schools), artist talks, screenings, family activity sessions and cross-departmental activities like the Banff Centre Children’s Festival. We prioritize diversity in our programming, in an effort to represent the various aspects of our community and its interests of all age groups, including visual art followers and the greater public who are keen to expand their knowledge base and explore platforms for their creativity.

See our online listing here for all our upcoming public events.

Group tours of the exhibitions and facilities can be arranged by calling us at 403.762.6281 or sending us an email at to arrange an appointment.
