Visual Arts Aboriginal Preparatorial Work Study

Program Fee: $189 per week (covered by financial assistance)
Stipend: $425 per week
This stipend is not specifically linked to work performed but is intended to enable participants to pursue the overall learning objectives.
Work studies are responsible for their own room and board costs, however, they are eligible for housing in the Rocky Mountain Housing Co-operative building dedicated to work study accommodation (based on availability). Current rates for this accommodation are $7.50 / day (shared) or $15 / day (single) and will be deducted from the participant’s stipend payment.
No deductions for income tax, CPP, or EI are made from stipend payments. Financial assistance and stipend awards are considered taxable income for Revenue Canada.
Applicants are also encouraged to approach their local arts councils and agencies for additional financial assistance to offset travel costs.
All programs, faculty, dates, fees, and offers of financial assistance are subject to change. Program fee subject to applicable taxes. Non-refundable fees and deposits will be retained upon cancellation. Any other fees are refunded at the discretion of The Banff Centre.
