Programs at The Banff Centre

Banff New Media Institute (BNMI) Research

Program dates: Ongoing

Program Information

BNMI supports research in creativity and transformation, linking arts and technology. We support basic and applied research. Researchers are welcome at all stages of a project and from across the social sciences, humanities, sciences and the arts. Researchers can partner with faculty at The Banff Centre or propose a project that the Centre can support.

The Banff New Media Institute’s facilities, faculty and technical staff can support research in the areas of visualization, immersive experience, collaborative systems, methodologies and experiences, mobile media, education and technology, responsive environments such as wearable computers, art and science, and art and mathematics. Researchers are welcome as observers on artists’ projects when appropriate and as critical theorists and analysts in the field of new media.
