Banff International String Quartet Competition partners with Autism Calgary and Xenia Concerts to present relaxed concert in Calgary
CALGARY, AB—The Rolston Quartet, winners of the 2016 Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC) will perform a relaxed concert on Saturday, August 31st at 11:00 a.m. at the Indefinate Arts Centre in Calgary. This concert is part of the community engagement surrounding the 13th Banff International String Quartet competition, taking place at Banff Centre from August 26-September 1.
Relaxed concerts are intended to be sensitive to and welcoming of neurodiverse audiences, including patrons on the autism spectrum, those with sensory and communication disorders, people with learning disabilities or those who simply want a more relaxed concert experience.
The Rolston Quartet is dedicated to sharing music with under-served communities and through the Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC) is performing in partnership with Autism Calgary and the Indefinite Arts Centre, the largest disability arts organization in Canada, Xenia Concerts and Steinway Calgary.
The Rolston Quartet was catapulted to international stardom after winning BISQC in 2016 and has become one of the most in-demand ensembles in the world.
