Hands-on training and professional development opportunities for actors, performers, and technicians.
Theatre programs support artists and technicians at every career level. Banff Centre was established in 1933 with a single summer course in drama. Since those early days, artists and technical practitioners alike have found exceptional opportunities for development here at our campus in the Canadian Rockies.
Banff Centre alumni can be found both nationally and internationally working at dance, music, opera, and theatre companies and training at universities and colleges.
While we recruit for a Director of Theatre, a position that will allow the Centre to grow the footprint of our Theatre programming we will be offering a smaller palette of residencies for the 2022/23 season. We thank the artist community for your patience and support as we continue to rebuild.

Banff Centre is an unprecedented leader in the Canadian theatre landscape. Holding the Intimacy Direction Workshop proves their dedication to the evolving emotional climate of our industry and gives artists the most current tools to navigate these changes and act as leaders in our community.
