Rube Goldberg Machine Residency/Workshop
The inaugural Rube Goldberg Machine Residency introduces visual artists and design professionals of all disciplines to the fundamentals of designing their own Rube Goldberg Machine. Arguably the birthplace of engineering, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity has a long historical record of innovation and creativity. This world-class residency invites inventors, engineers, animators and visual artists to battle it out for innovative victory.
The rules are simple: execute intricate, complex engineering and design that results flawlessly in an extremely ordinary, mundane task. Achieve this, and you will receive the Banff Centre award for Innovation, $8,000 in award value, and the respect of all within our global community.
Submit your designs/blueprints by April 4, 2018. Only eight spots are available. Once accepted, participants will receive one acre of project space and all the equipment/materials necessary to build their brilliance.
