With a variety of fitness classes and services including an aquatics centre, full-sized gymnasium, fitness/weight room, climbing gym, indoor running track, and spin studio, Sally Borden Fitness and Recreation Centre is the place in Banff to be fit!

Every now and then we all need a little lift so that we can perform and look our best. The pools at Sally Borden Fitness & Recreation are no different, and will soon be undergoing an upgrade. 

All of our 3 pools will be getting an upgraded filtration system. The installation of these new filtration systems will require that each pool is closed for use for a period of time. 

The Wade and Whirl Pools are will begin their upgrades on November 2, 2015, and will be closed until the upgrade is complete. During this time the 25 meter pool will remain open until it begins its upgrade.

On November 16, 2015, the 25 meter pool will being its upgrade and will be closed until the upgrade is completed. 

As anyone who has undertaken a renovation can attest, upgrades and construction projects can sometimes run over schedule. We will keep everyone updated to the closure statuses of each of our pools.

We welcome you to continue using all of Sally Borden Fitness & Recreation’s amenities – Fitness Room, Climbing Gym, Gymnasium, Steam Room and Fitness Classes – during this time, and look forward to seeing you.

Flow Yoga - Drop In/Member Class

Enjoy the power of connecting the mind, body and spirit with V inyasa Flow Yoga. Improve your flexibility, core strength, balance, and stability though various postures and stretches. This is a dynamic style ofyoga where the postures flow from one to the next with emphasis on the bre ath. All ability levels are welcome. We recommend newcomers arrive 10-15 mi nutes early to speak with the instructor about any concerns they have. Modi fications are given for all postures and participants are encouraged to wor k at their own level.

Note: There is a $2 rental fee for yoga mats.

NOTE: Drop-in rates also include use of the pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, gymnasium, exercise room , and running track. Parents do not have to pay a drop-in fee if they are t he supervising adult belaying a child. They do, however, have to pay if t hey are belaying another adult.

Join other mom’s in a fun, social and effective baby-friendly workou t! This class will include cardio, strength training, core work and flex ibility and is suitable for all levels.

Conditions: Women must be 4 plu s weeks postpartum (6 plus for caesarean) and have medical clearance from t heir doctor (Dr. note to be provided on or before first class). Babies mus t remain in stroller, carrier or mother’s arms at all times.

This 75-minute class will begin w ith a great cardio workout on the bike to get the heart rate up and do somesweating. A relaxing 30 minute yoga session will follow to stretch out th e muscles and work on a bit of conditioning for the core.
