The 49th annual Festival features over 70 events, bringing films and stories of adventure and exploration from around the world to Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta. Mountains of FREE events include talks, exhibitions, and the Festival Marketplace. The Festival also features events and screenings at Lux Cinema Banff, artsPlace Canmore, and other partner venues in downtown Banff. Films announced October 3! 

Tickets: $20- $42 ($70-78 CAD for all day films)

2024 Guest speakers include:
Dawa Yangzum Sherpa (NEP) the first woman from Nepal to become an international mountain
guide; Renowned American rock climber Beth Rodden (USA); award-winning author ofThe Golden Spruce and Fire Weather John Vaillant (CAN); and the team who recently free-climbed Riders on the Storm in Patagonia: Sean Villanueva O'Driscoll (BEL), Nico Favresse (BEL), Drew Smith (USA) and Siebe Vanhee (BEL); and many more!

We recognize, with deep respect and gratitude, our home on the side of Sacred Buffalo Guardian Mountain. In the spirit of respect and truth, we honour and acknowledge the Banff area, known as “Minihrpa” (translated in Stoney Nakoda as “the waterfalls”) and the Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Îyârhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda) – comprised of the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney Nations – as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Blackfoot Confederacy comprised of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Shuswap Nations, Ktunaxa Nations, and Metis Nation of Alberta, Rockyview District 4.
