October 26 - 27, 2019

Youth Adventure Photography Workshop

2019 workshop information:

2-day Outdoor Adventure photography workshop for youth ages 15-25 led by local instructor Jeremiah Marsh (October 26 – October 27, 2019).

Overview:
Learn tips from a pro on how capture spectacular outdoor moments. Experiment with cameras and equipment. Take advantage of Banff’s inspirational landscapes and scenery in this 2-day adventure-focused youth-only workshop. Ideal for aspiring outdoor photographers ages 15-25. Participants will learn beginner skills and photography techniques, experiment with equipment provided by The Camera Store, and meet fellow aspiring outdoor photographers.

This workshop takes place within the core of Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival, where epic stories are told through the eyes of adventurers, authors, photographers, and filmmakers from around the globe.

What does the program offer?
This 2-day workshop offers introductory level outdoor photography on-campus at Banff Centre and the surrounding area. Draw inspiration from Banff’s iconic landscapes and scenery in this intensive workshop led by local instructor Jeremiah Marsh. This workshop promotes an open, inclusive, interactive, and creative atmosphere for youth.

We pack both days with hands-on practice, lively discussion, feedback and brainstorming. All equipment is provided for each participant for the duration of the workshop. Industry-standard and professional cameras give participants a real sense of what life is like as a professional photographer. Images created in the workshop are invited to be showcased in a Community Exhibition and Gallery.

The workshop includes 2 full days of instruction and equipment, lunch on-campus at Vistas Restaurant, and the opportunity to showcase your final images.
Accommodation and transportation is not provided.

Participants must make their own housing and transportation arrangements. Participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, and wear appropriate outdoor clothing.

Who should enroll?
This workshop was designed for ages 15 -25. To get the most from the program, registrants should have a strong desire to learn and experiment with the basics of outdoor adventure photography. Youth who love imagery and photography are encouraged to register. A selection of final images will be displayed in a digital and/or physical gallery-setting after the workshop.

No experience or photography skills necessary, this beginner-level workshop is for students with little photography experience. Registrants should demonstrate a strong desire to learn and experience outdoor adventure photography.

Enrolment is limited to 15 participants.
