Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Building
Office-style studio spaces with large windows and inspiring views. Each studio is equipped with a desk, seating space, telephone and wifi.
Rice Television Studio
A fully-equipped 230 square-metre (2,500 square-foot) sound-isolated television studio space with painted chromakey green cyclorama and Hog4 PC lighting control board.
Lighting instruments include a range of Desisti fresnels, and soft boxes, Arri lighting kits, both tungsten and LED, Lite Panels 1x1, Sola 12, Sola 4, Robe Robin 300 moving LED, Martin Mac 350 LED. Also have a number of Arri HMI fresnels.
Cameras include Panasonic AG-HPX300P, Panasonic AJ-HPX3100, Nikon D800, Panasonic AW-HE120 HD Robocams and a Panasonic AG-3DP1 3D camera.
Adjacent to the Luscar Control room, this 147 sq m (1600 sq ft) multi‐use space can function not only as the primary recording space but also as a TV production studio, dance rehearsal space, and a presentation room. For music recording, its acoustic lends itself well to jazz, contemporary, and rock music.
Luscar Control Room
This versatile control room is the primary music recording control room with its Avid System 5 console and Avid Pro Tools digital audio workstation. Recordings here are done using multitrack recording, editing, and mixing techniques. It is also home to sound mixing for film projects and can accommodate a full 5.1 surround mix.
It is linked to all audio and video production areas via a Storage Area Network (SAN), audio and video ties, and computer network. It also includes a wide selection of outboard gear and professional microphones. Networked systems permit easy movement of projects between all studios.
Talisman Energy Audio Studio
Adjacent to the beautiful 200 seat Rolston Recital Hall, located in the Music & Sound Building, this Pyramix-based audio control room looks out at the picturesque Mount Rundle. The stage set up can be changed to accommodate ensembles of various sizes - from soloists to small orchestras.
It is linked to all audio and video production areas via a Storage Area Network (SAN) and a computer network. Networked systems permit easy movement of projects between all studios.
Christie refers to its MicroTiles as the original digital canvas. The tiles are essentially 2'x2' screens with self-contained data projection system that can be networked and incorporated into any number of shapes for displaying visual content. Content can range from moving video to graphics that might enhance television locations for video production. These can also transform into fully interactive digital displays with the addition of Christie's Interactivity kit.
Edit Suite JPL 114
Avid Symphony editing system with hardware acceleration, running on a PC based platform. This fully sound-isolated suite includes the latest Avid 3D picture and 5.1 audio editing tools, Adobe's Production bundle, 50 inch plasma monitor, Dolby Color Grading Monitor, Avid / Euphonix Artist Color Control Surface and Tektronix picture signal scoping. All Avid editing stations within Media + Production are connected through a Facilis central server for shared storage so multiple suites can collaborate on the same project concurrently.
Edit Suite JPL 116
JPL 116 is the central ingest, export, encoding, duplication and quality control room for Media + Production's post production pipeline. The space is equipped for format conversion, DVD and BluRay authoring / duplication and features Doremi's Cineasset mastering suite for DCP encoding. A variety of legacy video tape decks round out the flexibility of this room including: Panasonic D5, DVCPRO HD, HDV and Betacam and DigiBeta.
Edit Suite JPL 220
An artist based edit system capable of running either Avid or Final Cut Pro along with the Adobe Production bundle. The suite can be connected to Media + Production's shared storage server for full project collaboration or can run as a standalone system. Capture/ingest and storage devices are tailored to the needs of projects.
Rice Audio Control Room
The Digidesign Pro Tools based audio-for-video suite includes a Yamaha DM2000 console. It is located adjacent to Rice Television Studio, and includes a voice-over booth. The room is also capable of mixing film projects in 5.1 surround.
It is linked to all audio and video production areas via a Storage Area Network (SAN), computer network, and audio and video ties. Networked systems permit easy movement of projects between all studios.

Multichannel Digital Editing Suite
A complete digital post-production suite designed around Merging Technologies Pyramix workstation. This system supports multi-channel and multi-sample rate formats. It is linked to all audio and video production areas via a Storage Area Network (SAN) and a computer network. Networked systems permit easy movement of projects between all studios.

The screening room is comprised of a 85'' Panasonic Plasma display, BluRay playback, an AVID workstation connected to our SAN, Ethernet, 5.1 surround sound installation and can accommodate seating for a maximum of 20 people.
Audio Control Room
A self-contained recording facility featuring a state-of-the-art multi-channel input digital console, broadcast-quality microphones, Pro Tools equipped Macs for live recording and post-production editing, digital program scheduling equipment and various media playback devices.
Complete with a custom-built table, low-profile mic arms and talkback communication to the control room, the sound-isolating whisper booth can accommodate a host and up to three guests simultaneously.
Audio & VR Project Space + Green Room
A multi-purpose meeting room for guests and staff, the green room is also wired and ready to host recordings and intimate music performances.
