A Brother’s Fountain

A Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival After-Party

A group of men cheer in their backyard

After the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival's keynote event Sarah Hueniken, Ines Papert – and Films, on November 6 at 7:30 p.m., keep the party going in CLVB ’33 with a special guest performance from Colorado's favourite "campfire folk" group A Brother’s Fountain.

A Brother’s Fountain is the perfect group of mountain junky musicians to raise a glass with. Their sound is a refreshing take on folk rock and Americana, infusing their music with the raw authenticity of life's extraordinary moments in nature, with friends, and in the pursuit of adventure. From rowdy anthems to reflective sing-alongs, their songs resonate with themes of nature, friendship, and the pursuit of adventure. At the heart of their sound lies the trademark "gang vocals" that invite listeners to join in the chorus, creating an immersive experience that feels like gathering around a crackling campfire with old friends.

This rag-tag crew of best buds and mountain junkies (river guides, backpackers, cyclists, skiers, etc...) started their music journey busking on the streets of Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado. Now you’ll find the group playing their music while floating down rivers, camping in the mountains, or at various venues across the West. Embracing the power of music and the power of outdoor adventure is A Brother's Fountain's entire ethos; as their song says, "Get Your Ass Outside"!

This is exactly the subject of the film Only Music // Snake River, which chronicles the group as they trade concert stages for river currents, embarking on a multi-day journey down Colorado's Snake River with little more than their instruments and a shared willingness to connect. Along the way, music becomes a universal language, breaking down barriers, sparking unexpected encounters, and revealing the generosity of strangers in wild places.

Only Music // Snake River will screen on November 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Margaret Greenham Theatre at Banff Centre, as part of the 2026 Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival. Catch the film and celebrate with this post-screening after-party in CLVB '33 with the band, live!

Don't miss this festival after-party in CLVB ’33, where you can get a drink (alcoholic or non), fuel on light snacks, and connect with your fellow mountain culture lovers.
