Midsummer Ball FAQs

What should I wear to the events and activities?

Friday Night LIVE!: Cocktail attire is requested. We recommend a casual suit, cocktail dress, or business attire.

Early Morning Medicine Walk: The guided walk will proceed as scheduled, rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.

Daytime Spotlights: We recommend comfortable, casual clothing and footwear for these events.

Champagne Reception and Midsummer Ball Gala: Black tie attire is requested. We recommend a suit or tuxedo, or a formal dress or ball gown.

President’s Brunch: Casual, comfortable clothing is recommended for the brunch.

Evening Events: Please bring a jacket, coat, or wrap to Friday Night LIVE! and the Saturday Gala, as the weather in Banff can be cool in the evenings.

How do I find my way around campus?

Please view our campus map. Signage is placed across campus as well. For additional info, visit Getting Around Campus

Where should I park?

Valet parking is available at the Professional Development Centre. Additional parking is located in the parkade under the Music & Sound Building. All parking is complimentary.

What are the hotel check in and check out times?

Check-in anytime after 4 p.m. You may request an earlier check-in, but we cannot guarantee availability. 
Check-out time is 11 a.m. Late check-outs will be charged a late check-out fee.

Are there any taxi services?

Local taxi service is available through Banff Transportation Group Ltd. at 403.762.0000. Please visit the Artist Fund table during each evening event if you require assistance with booking.

Is this an adult-only event?

Yes, all events that take place throughout the weekend are adult-only. My Hotel Sitter is a great resource for arranging childcare in the Bow Valley. 

Can I only pay for the Saturday Night Gala?

Tickets for the Midsummer Ball are a set price of $1,500 per guest and include all food, beverages, and activities throughout the weekend. There are no individual prices per activity. All activities are optional to attend. 

How do I get a Banff National Park Pass and how much does it cost?

A national park entry fee is charged to all Banff National Park visitors. Revenues collected from park pass sales support visitor services and facilities in Canada’s national parks. Park pass fees are determined based on the number of people travelling and the type of vehicle entering the park. View passes and admission information

You can purchase a park pass at any of the entry gates into Banff National Park, at the Parks Canada Information Centre located in downtown Banff (224 Banff Avenue), or online in advance of your visit through Banff Lake Louise Tourism.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Our culinary team led by Executive Chef Sébastien Tessier is happy to accommodate dietary requirements. Please contact Amber Ward, Donor Relations and Events Administrator, at Amber_Ward@banffcentre.ca or 403.762.6611 to notify us of your requirements.

How do I access photos taken during the weekend?

Shortly following the Midsummer Ball an email will be sent to all attendees with a link to access all photos, including couples photos taken during the weekend.
