The Painter House, named after its architect, Walter Painter, is a converted two-storey character home. It provides space for a group of up to eight artists working collaboratively (ensembles, collectives, inter-disciplinary groups) to develop scores, scripts, plays, visual art projects that do not require clean-up or wet space.
The main floor features multiple areas with meeting tables and work desks and a kitchen with coffee and tea-making facilities. The sitting room features a grand piano and opens out to a large, private wraparound deck area. The upper floor features one large room and one smaller room which could serve as break out rooms or private work spaces.
