Canadian singer/songwriter Luca Fogale has a clear mission with his music: to provide comfort and sanctuary, not just from the cruel world that can so often bring us down, but from the dark thoughts and messy feelings that can plague us in our most insecure moments.
A two-time JUNO Award nominee for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year (for 2020's Nothing Is Lost and 2023's Run Where the Light Calls), Fogale has toured extensively across Canada, the U.S. and Europe, and reached over 100 million total streams across the major platforms.
This year he released his fourth album, Challenger, a deeply personal "emotional sanctuary" for the listener, grappling with mental health, self-worth, generational patterns, apathy, masculine ideals, and social tumult.
Influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan and compared to Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley, this is a must-see performance on a wintery night in the Bow Valley.
Luca Fogale comes to Banff Centre as faculty for the Banff Musicians in Residence program, which gives musicians and ensembles the time and space to develop new work, refine their craft, and collaborate in Banff Centre’s inspiring mountain setting. The second half of this concert will feature participants in this program.
It is inevitable for that level of self-examination to find people who relate, and this collection of songs is Fogale’s most inviting yet. - The Luna Collective
