Marietta Orlov has had an active career as a soloist since the age of 16, when she had the distinct honour of being appointed Romanian State soloist. Following this period, the primary focus of her performing activity became chamber music. After moving to Vienna from her native Romania, she had extensive concert tours throughout most of Europe, including broadcasts on radio and television. Currently, Orlov is a dedicated teacher renowned for fostering some of Canada's most promising young musicians and is on faculty at the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music's Glenn Gould School.

Ronan O’Hora has performed extensively throughout the world, playing concertos with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Zurich Tonhalle, Indianapolis Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, Philharmonia Hungarica, and Queensland Philharmonic. He has performed across Europe, the USA, Canada, Australasia, and South Africa, and appeared at many of the most prestigious music festivals including Salzburg, Gstaad, Ravinia, Montpelier, and Brno. He has recorded more than 30 CDs for the EMI, Virgin Classics, Tring International, Dinemic, and Fone labels, and is the head of keyboard studies and advanced performance studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Pianist Julian Martin has performed in major halls around the globe. Endorsements have followed from the world press, from Buenos Aires, Caracas, and Los Angeles to Florence, Moscow, and Tokyo. He has served as a juror for the 1996 Montreal International Piano Competition, Virtuosi of the Year 2000 in St. Petersburg, the American Pianists Foundation in Indianapolis, and the 2005 Jaén International Competition in Spain. After teaching at Oberlin Conservatory for six years, Martin joined the faculty of Peabody Conservatory in 1987. He was appointed to The Juilliard School in 1999 where he currently maintains a full-time position in addition to his Peabody post.

Pianist Michael McMahon is the preferred partner to many of Canada’s finest singers. He has performed regularly throughout Canada, in Europe, Japan and the USA with singers such as Catherine Robbin, Karina Gauvin, Measha Brueggergosman, Gordon Bintner, Marianne Fiset, Lyne Fortin, Dominique Labelle, Wendy Nielsen, Maureen Forester, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Annamaria Popescu, Joseph Kaiser, Nathan Berg, Brett Polegato, Benjamin Butterfield, Philippe Sly, Daniel Taylor, Michael Schade, Russell Braun and Richard Margison.

Following his studies at McGill University in Montreal, he completed his musical education in Vienna at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst and the Franz Schubert Institute, and in Salzburg at the Mozarteum. During this time, he studied with such legendary artists as Erik Werba, Hans Hotter, Elly Ameling, Jörg Demus, and Kim Borg.

In addition to his active performing schedule, Michael McMahon is a Professor at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal. He has had long associations with l'Atelier lyrique de L'Opéra de Montréal, Opera Nuova, the Orford Arts Centre and the Banff Centre, where he has worked regularly as a vocal coach. He is also often asked to give Masterclasses for singers and pianists, and is a resident artist at the Franz Schubert Institute in Austria and the C.O.S.I. Summer Opera program in Italy.

He has made numerous broadcast recordings for the English and French networks of the CBC, as well as for the BBC, RBTF, Radio Suisse Romande, and Radio France. His recordings on the Marquis, CBC , Atma, and Analekta labels have met with critical acclaim, including Juno nominations and the Prix Opus. He was also a judge and vocal coach for the award winning television series “Bathroom Divas”. In 2012, Michael McMahon was honoured with a Ruby Award by Opera Canada for his contribution to music in Canada.

We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Shuswap Nations, Ktunaxa Nations, and Metis Nation of Alberta, Rockyview District 4. We acknowledge all Nations who live, work, and play here, help us steward this land, and honour and celebrate this place.
